OK- admit it! I haven’t been the best at updating this website recently. However I have been very busy. June and July are always my busiest months. It’s a combination of the usual birthday parties that come up all year round and then the additional public events that summertime brings.
Much of my work has been in Greetland/Stainland recently like this lovely glitter picture. I love it up there because it’s so rural and green. Bus connections aren’t great but it’s worth going there for how pretty it is. Lovely people too.
This weekend I was back in Hebden Bridge at #kidsfest The board below was my offering to complement their circus themeI was happy someone chose this design as it was my favourite. I have been painting this little girl since she was tiny.
Still lots coming up – a princess party this weekend then 2 school leaving do’s very soon too!
I recently painted in a care home!
I was bit unsure what to expect to be honest. I was also a bit nervous because the older skin is, the harder it is to paint because of the lack of elasticity and dryness. It can feel like you are dragging the skin sometimes. Still, I wanted to make sure everyone had a good time so I planned for designs that wouldn’t need much line work to minimise any “dragging”.
I also took my #superstarfacepaints because from experience I find those the creamiest to work with, they seem very hydrated so thought they would work better on older skin. As it turned out, the people that wanted painting were all spring chickens anyway! It was a fun day and it was relatives of the residents I painted. Here are a couple of kitty cuties.
I was unsure what to expect in the home itself – the media likes to give lots of bad press to the poor ones but this care home – #Eaglecarehome – seemed lovely. I got such a warm, homely vibe from there and the residents seemed settled and happy. Another wonderful face painting day!
We have been having some fabulous weather recently (touch wood!) and yesterday I had the pleasure of painting in not one but two lovely gardens!
First of all, I was painting in Greetland. Its a stunning area of #Calderdale and it is always a pleasure to visit. I took my son camping there a couple of years ago and I adore the woodland and open spaces. It was an eight year old girl’s birthday party.
Eight year olds are sooooo sophisticated these days; apart from myself activities included getting their nails done and a very civilised looking picnic! Oh – and for anyone who missed the memo (like me!) “The Greatest Showman” is THE movie of the moment!
Next up was Mytholmroyd – up by #ScoutRoadSchool. Again in the garden. Magnificent views once again.Younger children at this celebration and all but one, wanted to be a flower fairy.
No photos but they all looked so cute. Woke up this morning to two fantastic reviews from both customers.
It was wonderful to not have to forfeit the lovely weather in order to go to work. Love my job!
I love my son’s kind hearted little school so it was a pleasure this weekend to help out at his school Fayre. We got good weather and lots of people from both the school and wider community attended. (more…)
I was pleased to paint a a last minute (for me) birthday party at #Maxwellsfunhouse in Walsden last night. It was even nicer to see some familiar face when I got there.
The theme was Unicorns and I put afew Unicorn choices on my board including this one which birthday girl went for.- so cute!
Mermaids were the other popular design at the party. I belonged them up with some fab bespoke bling by #LGLondon. Don’t they look fabulous?
I didn’t paint any boys at this birthday party apart from a little one wanting a star his hand which I gladly did. It was a quite a girly party with lots of girls wearing rainbow tutus, hairband Unicorn horns and eating pink cupcakes. I am in my comfort zone with girly designs so that was fine by me!
